I have been in private practice since 2017. I love what I do and can’t imagine any work more fulfilling. In my free time, I enjoy books, Masterpiece Theatre, yoga, travel, nature and spending time with loved ones.
I enjoy working with adults 21 and up, as well as families of all ages in need of family therapy. My counseling specialties include trauma resolution, adult adoptees, parenting challenges, family therapy, loss and grief, and body image. My main desire is to see people thrive in life no matter what they have been through in the past. Much of my work involves helping clients to forge healthy bonds in their relationships with themselves, others and the world at large. I enjoy incorporating spirituality and social justice concerns into counseling when the client desires, and I work hard to provide a safe space for people of all races, ethnicities, religions, body size/type, and sexual identities. There is no one-size-fits-all when it comes to therapy, so I utilize an eclectic approach to counseling, depending on the needs of each client. I mostly use Ego State Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) for individual therapy. For families, I rely mainly on Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) and Emotionally Focused Therapy for Families (EFFT). Read more about these on My Approach page.
I am in-network with most Aetna and Blue Cross/Blue Shield plans and provide filing for these claims. Out-of-network and private-pay clients may receive services at the rate of $150 per session. For out-of-network claims, you would pay for your session at the time of service, and I would provide you with a service receipt to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement according to your policy’s coverage. As every policy is different, please contact your insurance company with questions regarding your specific mental health coverage. Please see my FAQ for more info.
